ALLIONI (Carlo). Flora pedemontana, sive Enumeratio methodica stirpium indigenarum Pedemontii. Marbled calf, triple cold fillet framed on covers, spine ribbed and decorated, red edges (period binding). Original edition of this botanical work by the Turin physician and botanist Carlo Allioni (1728-1804). This is the main work of this scientist. It contains the description and medicinal virtues of 2813 species of plants from the Piedmont region, including 237 that had never been described before. It is considered to be one of the most important botanical books published at the time in Europe and the most important book on Piedmont in this field . The edition is divided into 3 volumes and has 92 large copper-engraved plates, featuring the reproduction of 221 of the species described. Each title also has a large copper-engraved vignette . Damaged caps and corners with missing, chafed and chafed edges on the dishes. Missing the title of the first volume as well as the portrait of the king; the false title and the white guard sheet are consecutively partly unbound. In the second volume, slips Ddd1 and Ddd2 were erroneously bound before slip Bbb1. Small wetnesses without gravity in places.
