Strasbourg: Johann Grüninger, 1499. - Folio, 298 x 209: (6 ff.), 172 ff. poorly leafed CLXXXI. [sig. 6 b-c8 d-z6 A-F6]. As the first one, it proposes the comedies of Terence accompanied by the ancient commentary of the 4th century grammarian and rhetorician Donat, and the modern ones of the grammarian and theologian Guy Jouenneaux (1450?-1507) and the humanist Josse Bade (1461-1535). Between 1483 and 1531, Grüninger printed almost 300 titles, ranging from Greek and Latin classics to missals, sermon collections, scientific works, almanacs and novels of chivalry. The illustration includes 165 woodcut compositions in a second edition, including one on the title, representing a theatre decorated in the Gothic style, 6 full-page engravings, placed at the head of each room, and 158 engravings in the text.
