[WOODCUTS - GASTRONOMY] Set of 2 matrices... - Lot 49 - Ader
[WOODCUTS - GASTRONOMY] Set of 2 matrices of original bleached wood engravings for a gastronomy book. These two blocks date from the end of the 19th century and were engraved in Germany. One of them, measuring 130 x 170 mm, is signed by the engraver Kaeseberg and represents a rich dish decorated with game and hunting objects, on which a boar's head is placed. The second, measuring 186 x 130 mm, is a large open cupboard containing meat, game and fish. On the back is the engraved mark: "W. Güldenstein. Brandenburg str. 55 Berlin". A matrix in two wooden blocks from the end of the 19th century is attached, representing the painting "Jupiter Lightning the Vices" by Veronese, drawn by J. Petot and engraved by Léon-Louis Chapon (1836-1918). He hasn't been cleared.
