[EROTIC ALBUM] Lupanar love parties. S.l., circa 1880-1900. - In-8, 210 x 165. Precious and unique erotic album composed of 156 original drawings in Indian ink glued on lined paper , each with a caption and representing an intimate scene, representative of what could take place in brothels at the end of the 19th century. These drawings are anonymous, the author being presented on the spine of the binding under the pseudonym "Gil du Ruy Blas". They are very beautifully made, sometimes a little naive, preceded by a handwritten title page, bearing this note: "Leave here all Illusion". This is a unique testimony. The draughtsman has taken extreme care in elaborating all these scenes, the great majority of the drawings have on the back the pencil sketch of the subject represented in Indian ink. Legends are also characteristic of the relationships that might exist between prostitutes and johns. At the end is an unpublished handwritten sonnet, written in pencil, entitled Mièvre sonnet. Slightly faded back with some rubbing. Tears and worm work to a few sheets, without damaging the drawings.
