Cabinet in pewter and ebony marquetry opening to a large drawer and two leaves simulating six drawers and revealing ten drawers and a window containing three drawers, the uprights in pilaster on a red tortoiseshell background, the front decorated with foliage scrolls; on a base added at a later date; (small missing parts). Louis XIV period. H: 81 cm, W: 103.5 cm, D: 50 cm Total: H: 175 cm, W: 103.5 cm, D: 50 cm The upper part of this cabinet must be compared with two other pieces of furniture obviously made in the same workshop in the second half of the 17th century. One of these pieces belonged to the former collection of the famous antique dealer Nicolas Landau (Paris sale, Sotheby's, 8-9 April 2013, lot 61), the other Paris sale, Artcurial, 23 June 2009, lot 42.
