ALAIN Jehan (1911-1940). MANUSCRIT MUSICAL autograph signed, "Jehan Alain" Suite pour orgue, [1935]; a sewn booklet in fol. of 7 bifeuillets , including 2 titles and 24 pages. The first great organ work in which Jehan Alain made a name for himself . In three parts: Introduction and Variations, Scherzo and Choral, this Suite for organ, composed in 1934-1935, won the "Composition Prize of the Friends of the Organ in 1936", as the author proudly inscribes it on the two title pages of the manuscript; it was published the same year by Alphonse Leduc (stamps in red ink of the publisher at the bottom of each piece). Carefully written in black ink on 16-line paper, with registration indications, this manuscript presents few corrections or scratches. It thus includes :I. Introduction and variations (pages [1]-10 ) [JA 69]; II. Scherzo (pages 11-19), marked at the beginning Andante senza rigore [JA 70]; III. Choral (pages 20-24), signed at the end [JA 82].
