MOZART Wolfgang Amadeus (1756-1791). La Villanella... - Lot 1170 - Ader
MOZART Wolfgang Amadeus (1756-1791). La Villanella Rapita Or The Kidnapped Villager Opera Bouffon En Trois Actes, Performed at Monsieur's Theatre in 1789. Musique Italienne de Diférens Célébres Compositeurs, Paroles Italienne Traduction en Françaises, Par M. D .*** (Paris, Sieber, [1789]); one volume in-fol. (33.5 x 26 cm) of 267 pages, early 19th c. half-cornered green wove paperback, bearing on the top cover the label of "Abonnement de lecture musicale... chez Ph. Petit, successeur de Gaveaux..." (small lack in the lower right corner of the title, small marginal slit p. 21-22, marginal fold in the last 2 ff. with small hole, inside slightly dusty with slight browning). Very rare first edition of Mozart's Terzetto Mandina Amabile (K. 480), the only operatic orchestral score published during his lifetime. This Terzetto for soprano, tenor and bass was added by Mozart to Francesco Bianchi's opera buffa, based on a libretto by Giovanni Bertati, La Villanella rapita, for the Burgtheater performances in Vienna in 1785; it was inserted during the French revival as a "pasticcio" on June 15, 1789, and in the orchestral score then published by Sieber. The "Trio del Sigr Mozart" concludes Act I (p. 51-71), and brings together the Count ("Mandina amabile"... or "Prends donc ma reine"...), Mandine and then Philippe. The other composers, named at the head of each piece, are Francesco Bianchi, Benedetto Ferrari, Giovanni Paisiello, Pietro Guglielmi, Giuseppe Sarti, and Giovanni Battista Martini. Score engraved with the quotation no . 1060 <
