SAINT-SAËNS Camille (1835-1921). MANUSCRIT... - Lot 1195 - Ader
SAINT-SAËNS Camille (1835-1921). MANUSCRIT MUSICAL autograph signed, Grand Duo pour 2 pianos d'après les duos pour piano et orgue op. 8 (1857) ; title and 63 pages oblong in-4 ; manuscript of one of Saint-Saëns's first works , for two pianos. Saint-Saëns' opus 8, published in 1858 by the publisher Girod, is a collection of Six Duos for harmonium and piano, dedicated to the organist Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély; the piano part is very virtuosic. The manuscript is written in black ink on 16-line oblong bifold sheets of paper, with a collage of fragments of the printed score of the Six Duos. After the title, the manuscript is composed as follows :I. Fantasy and Fugue (22 p.); 2. chorale, marked Agitato (11 p.); 3. Scherzo, Presto (16 p.); 4. Finale, marked Allegro (
