Achille DEVÉRIA (1800-1857). L.A.S., [1827?], in Alcide de Beauchesne; half-page in-4, address (small tear by breaking the seal).
An L.A.S. of his brother Eugène DEVÉRIA (1805-1865) is attached to Alcide de Beauchesne (1 page in-8), concerning a procedure for a "postulant": "render me the service of doing all that you can. You will be
doing your friend a favour"...
He sent him a drawing for Sosthenes de La Rochefoucauld (1785-1864, director of fine arts) "in exchange for my drawing of the Golden Fleece [...] If he accepts the deal you will be kind enough to return the other one to me as soon as possible. ...] If he accepts the deal, you will be kind enough to return the other one as soon as possible." [This is perhaps his watercolor Philippe le Bon, Duke of Burgundy, passing the collar of the Golden Fleece he presented at the 1827 Salon around his mistress' neck].
