This mirror case is part of a vast series of Persian lacquers undeniably influenced by Europe, as much by their biblical iconography as by the treatment of the clothing of certain characters, the architectural decor in which they evolve or by the presence of small putti in the sky. This mirror can be compared to the binding plates with very similar scenes in the Metropolitan Museum in New York under inventory number 34.23.
