Jug with saz-leaf decoration, Ottoman Turkey, Iznik, second half of the 16th centuryA jug with a globular body on a pedestal and a cylindrical flaring neck joined to the body by a curved handle. Siliceous ceramic with painted decoration on slip under transparent glaze of a floral composition mixing large blue saz leaves crossing broken stems of carnations opened out as in buttons on the body, of a frieze of blue saz leaves and red carnations in button on the neck.
