MANUFACTURE NATIONALE DE SÈVRES POUR PRIMAVERA (ATELIERS D'ART DU PRINTEMPS) - MARCELLE THIÉNOT (1907-1946) DESIGNER OF THE MODEL AND THE DESIGNVase n° 5, 1934, unique piece, delivered by the manufacture in November 1934, the decoration executed by Françoise BeaudouxHigh horn vase on circular base transformed into lamp later; the base and the high part not solidary and joined together by a metal fixing. Proof in polychrome enamelled porcelain. Accident at the base of the horn not visible when mounted in lamp. Signed Marcelle THIÉNOT on the base of the horn, the mark of the manufacture disappeared following the drilling for the assembly in lamp, marked F 9 under the foot. Our work exhibited during this event and presented on an advertisement announcing the event. History: Our piece is the result of a unique and fleeting collaboration between Primavera and the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres. It was delivered in November 1934, just in time to be included in Primavera's Eighth Small Fair of Modern Decorative Arts, which was held from November 12 to 24, 1934 . Primavera artists Colette Guéden, Gisèle Favre and Marcelle Thiénot designed a total of five vases and two dishes, which were made by Sèvres practitioners: Prunier, Freyssinges, Sivault, Roy, Faucher and Beaudoux. The register of entries in the sales shop of the Sèvres factory Vv 17-1932-1952 mentions our work under the number 5 for a sale price of 1200 francs.
