Gaston CHAISSAC (1910-1964). Autograph manuscript of 3 texts (each signed) with L.A.S. d'envoi, Boulogne par Les Essarts (Vendée) [17 March 1946], to the director of the review Horizon [Robert de La Croix, editor in chief] in Nantes; 3 pages in-4 in purple ink on double copy of schoolboy, address and stamp on p. 4 (holes of file folder). Sending of three surrealist poems. "Gaston Chaissac, a painter from Boulogne par les Essarts (Vendée), sends you his greetings and offers you some surrealist poems he has at his disposal "... The first poem, in prose, is entitled Sur le Coteau (34 lines), it occupies the left part of the unfolded page: "A very nice castle is on the hillside, an owl and its queen are making love in love like lovebirds"... The second, entitled Near an extinct star (34 verses in 7 stanzas), occupies the whole right part: "Bulldog near a lizard / It's the cursed earth, / The heretical dosage / Who of a random fact / Fornicates the standard"... On the fourth page, a prose text, It was, it was: "Josephine who was of the other sex was put in a litter. It was a noise, if she remembered but nothing "... The first page serves as an address.
