François TRUFFAUT. Typescript with autograph additions and corrections, La Femme d'à côté, and 3 autograph manuscripts, 1980; 12 pages in-4 (paginated 1-7 and 10-14, trace of rust from a paper clip), and 3 pages in-4. The monetized artistic list is attached with the contact details of the main actors. Interesting dossier on La Femme d'à côté, Truffaut's penultimate film, released in 1981, with Fanny Ardant and Gérard Depardieu. La Femme d'à côté (December 24, 1980). Typescript abundantly corrected with numerous autograph additions, on blue paper, of the film synopsis. "The story of La Femme d'à côté is set in the South of France, in one of those modern villages inhabited by the managers of a high-tech company (in the computer field), whose research centre is located above Nice. Two houses, separated by a little lawn and a double garage, are of particular interest to us. One bears a sign "For sale", the other is inhabited by a couple, Bernard, thirty years old, Arlette, a little younger and their son Thomas ". Then, in 16 numbered sequences, Truffaut details the scenes of the film: " 1 - Returning home and putting his car away in his garage, Bernard meets a man whom he helps to tear down the "For Sale" sign. It is the new neighbour who inspects the house one last time before surprising his new wife. ...] The new neighbour, Philippe, enters Bernard's house to make a phone call. Bernard introduces him to Arlette: "This is our future neighbour". In the last sequence (16), Bernard arrives at the hotel where the love meetings with Mathilde take place (the neighbour, who was once his mistress, and who has become his mistress again); he is called on the phone, it is Mathilde who tells him that she will not come ("I don't want to see you anymore, you scare me"). The 3 autographed pages on white paper, two of which are augmented by a stapled typed text, correspond to the end of the film; they are the comments of Odile Jouve who knew the couple of lovers and their story: "I won't be asked for my opinion and, I'm afraid, the bodies of Mathilde and Bernard will not be placed in the same tomb, but if I had to choose a funeral inscription for these two, I know what I would put: "Neither with you, nor without you" ".
