Gérard BAUËR (1888-1967). 3 autograph manuscripts... - Lot 77 - Ader
Gérard BAUËR (1888-1967). 3 autograph manuscripts signed, and about 60 letters addressed to him (most of them L.A.S.) with a few minutes of reply. Enclosed is a programme of the Conservatoire competition (6 July 1932) annotated by Bauër; and a file of press clippings: articles by Bauër and obituary articles. Articles from the series "Instants et Visages", or "La Ville et les Mœurs", signed with his name or pseudonym "Guermantes": Un philosophe ignoré (the failure of one of Maurice Clavel's pupils prompts Bauër's reflections on his own truncated academic education); Sur le seuil des vacances (memories of July 1914 in July 1967); Poète et Prophète (homage to the poet O.V. de Lubicz Milosz, "handsome, romantic, so enamoured and desperate that he wanted to die before he died, and here he is alive unalterably in faithfulness"). Letters from Denys Amiel, Georges Auric, Vincent Auriol, Marc Bernard, Gaston Bonheur, René Clair, Paul Colin, Pierre Daninos, Yvon Delbos, Pierre Descaves, Jacques Deval, Georges Duhamel, Philippe Erlanger, Maurice Garçon, Pierre Gascar, Pierre Gaxotte, Fernand Gregh, Robert d'Harcourt, Émile Henriot, Joseph Paul-Boncour, Gabriel Reuillard, Edmond Sée, Jacques Sennep, André Siegfried, Gaston Sorbets, Henry Torrès, Paul Vialar, etc., plus a nice set of readers' responses to a "Moments and Faces" column.
