Paul CLAUDEL (1868-1955). Autograph manuscript, Reader's Digest, [1947]; 2 pages in-4 (small tear at the lower edge with loss of two letters; typescript enclosed). Attached is a manuscript a.s. by Jacques AUDIBERTI, La Surpopulation, [1958] (4 pages and a half in-4 plus title, with erasures and corrections), review of La Surpopulation dans le monde by Gaston Bouthoul. Bouthoul" studies above all war and genital fertility, two powers that are constantly developing, working and draining the human race. By replacing war with death, of which war is a relatively legalized version, we would hold the two handles of the leg basket "... Etc. On the magazine Sélection du Reader's Digest, a subsidiary of the American monthly magazine which began to appear in France in March 1947 [this text appeared in the August 1947 issue]. Claudel praised the quality and accessibility of the information, the "exhilarating air, this frontier spirit" that emerges from it, and the variety of subjects, and he urged his compatriots to read the Digest: "It's more fun than existentialist novels. The air of the sea, the air of the mountains, the air of the meadow, is more pleasant to breathe than that of the Café de Flore " .
