Henri JEANSON (1900-1970). Signed autograph... - Lot 114 - Ader
Henri JEANSON (1900-1970). Signed autograph manuscript, [December 1958]; 8 in-4 pages on blue paper (printer's marks, small tear at one corner). On the occasion of the 700th issue of Arts (December 10, 1958) Jeanson pays homage to the free, uncommitted spirit of the review: Baudelaire, Nerval, Sainte-Beuve, Beaumarchais, Rivarol, Chénier, Vallès, Diderot, Veuillot would have found their place there, "because tolerance is the beginning of freedom"... He imagines the treatment of current events in two hundred years: Jean Bardot, Brigitte XXIII, etc. He also imagines the treatment of current events in two hundred years: Baudelaire, Nerval, Sainte-Beuve, Beaumarchais, Rivarol, Chénier, Vallès, Diderot, Veuillot. He cites the "problem of youth" attacked or drawn up by Aymé, Anouilh, J.-R. Huguenin; astonishing papers and polemics by R. Huyghe, Parinaud, J. Laurent, Ionesco, Truffaut... Arts, c'est ici" that Jean-Louis Barrault shouts "au secours on m'assassine", that René Clair denounces the demagogy of the cinema, that Ionesco insults M. Lars Schmidt insults Mr. Lars Schmidt and that Mr. Lars Schmidt retaliates, that Philippe Soupault turns the tables and resurrects Antonin Artaud [...] This is where good people feel at home"...
