On the occasion of the 700th issue of Arts (December 10, 1958) Jeanson pays homage to the free, uncommitted spirit of the review: Baudelaire, Nerval, Sainte-Beuve, Beaumarchais, Rivarol, Chénier, Vallès, Diderot, Veuillot would have found their place there, "because tolerance is the beginning of freedom"...
