Raymond de LA TAILHÈDE (1867-1938). 5 L.A.S., Moissac [1886], to the novelist André de Bréville (brother of the illustrator Job); 12 pages in-8 with the letterhead of L'Apéritif, Journal Humoristique et Littéraire (one in red ink). On his newspaper L'Apéritif. He complains about being in without news: "Are you angry that I told you to rewrite your nice poetry, or are you preparing another one? ...] I expect from you a gracious idyll full of fragrance and love. ...] If you can get me some new subscribers or collaborators, thank you a thousand times..." - "It has been two months since you last wrote to me - your high school diploma is probably absorbing you horribly, but I hope that this holiday you will not be so dumb. You have sent me a collaborator: François Carny "... - " You are lucky to be in Paris where you can laugh at ease - while me, tired, alas, I can hardly be happy, according to the expression of our Master Rabelais "... - You welcomed one of the first L'Apéritif with pleasure and you collaborated in its writing in a very kind way. [...] The poetry contests I have organized are going well. I've already received about fifty entries for this month..." - "Thank you for all the lovely verses. Don't forget me whenever you do them. Only send us mostly short things, not more than fifty verses, and then sonnets which are only about fifteen. As we have to satisfy all those who send us, we have to put several on the same number and then there is more variety. [...] If your brother Job could send us some drawings I would be happy to insert them in the Aperitif "....
