Jacques LAURENT (1919-2000). Manuscript in... - Lot 118 - Ader
Jacques LAURENT (1919-2000). Manuscript in part autograph, Plat du jour, [July 1949]; 3 pages in-4 typewritten corrected and 3 pages in autogr. fol., numerous corrections and additions. Attached are the corrected proofs (8 p. in-8), with autogr. corrections in pencil; Laurent crosses out the title and writes the new one: Plat du jour. Attached is a manuscript a.s. by Léon DAUDET, Le Cinquantenaire du Vaccin de la Rage (The Fiftieth Anniversary of the Rabies Vaccine). Les Phénomènes de Mutation, [1935] (2 p. and a half in-4): "The phenomena of mutation, of sudden passage from one state to another, have only been observed for about twenty years. They are a major obstacle to evolution. In Pasteur's time, it was still said that nature doesn't make leaps and bounds "... On the new post-war generation, which Laurent calls "the cino-jazz youth". Article published in La Table Ronde (August-September 1949). The beginning, typed with autograph corrections, bears the primitive title: " A new culture " ... " The young cino-jazz generation has no morals at its disposal. ...Youth only gives back to adults what they have lent to it. And they don't give back the fake money. In its amorality it forms a new moral of sexual freedom and equality, a summary moral. But we must forgive her for being summary if we want to remember that she did not have to look for her dizziness in drugs or spells like the Ox on the Roof, but to chase it away.
