"Please give the six boxes of twelve plates each to a good photographer (the house selling the plates may indicate one). The plates are printed, so it's a matter of revealing them and then making prints. Reveal the seventy-two plates. Point out that these are snapshots. Next, take three prints from each plate. I'm enclosing a proof from Paris, so that we can make similar ones. They are glazed, by means of the American plates. Send the prints back to me, rewrapping them in the boxes. And send me the proofs, three times seventy-two, or two hundred and sixteen, unless the pictures are too bad. I know that one of the plates has come out. I pay Paris two francs to reveal eighteen plates, that is to say eight francs for the six boxes of twelve. And then I pay two pennies for each print taken ...
