ARTOIS. Manuscript, Remarques sur plusieurs articles de la coutume d'Artois avec quelques questions de droit et de pratique by Me G.F. Hebert conseiller au conseil provincial d'Artois with different notes by Mr Rouget avocat, [ca. 1770]; volume in-fol. of 581 pages, in a speckled Basane binding of the time, spine with nerves decorated with fleurons (headdress and used bits). Commentary on articles 1 to 201 of the Artois custom, corresponding to the final codification, of 1669. This study by Guillaume-François Hébert was never printed, but a dozen handwritten copies are known. The present manuscript consists of a title page, a "Preliminary" of 8 notes (p. 3-10), remarks (numbered) on each of the articles of the custom (p. 10-503), and a detailed and analytical table of contents (p. 505-581).
