CANADA. 2 L.A.S. from Georges LECLERC, Montreal 1868-1869, to Francisque Michel; 7 pages in-8, on letterhead Lower Canada Chamber of Agriculture. Attached are 2 letters addr. from London to F. Michel, 1860-1869: request for recommendation from one of the "good houses of Bordeaux" to represent it in England; on letterhead Anglo-Mediterranean Telegraph Company Limited, on the visit of a Frenchman to London to be presented to the engineers of this company. Letters to the famous medievalist concerning the Montreal Agricultural Museum. Georges Leclerc was secretary of the Lower Canada Chamber of Agriculture. On October 30, 1868, he asked for a complete collection of cocoons for the Agricultural Museum: "You could, if it were possible, add the silkworm in its various transformations of egg, larva, chrysalis and butterfly, as well as a sample of silk from its raw state to its making into cloth" . April 2, 1869, concerning a copy of the Bibliotheca Canadensis given to Francisque Michel, Canadian Folk Songs sent to Prince Louis Lucien Bonaparte, and a copy of the report of the jury of the 1867 World's Fair received from Michel Chevalier...".
