L.A.S. "Jehanne de Navarre", [La Fère end 1551], to her aunt Antoinette de Bourbon, duchess of Guise; 1 page in folio, address (small print affecting the signature). Beautiful and rare letter for the baptism of his eldest son, Henri de Bourbon, Duke of Beaumont, born September 21, 1551; he died in 1553, four months before the birth of Henri IV. She was very happy to receive her letter and "to see that I have granted the prayer that I have made for you to come to the baptism of my son and assure you my aunt that there will not come anyone from whom I estimate and have more presense than from you, once again, not to forget and continue this good will and so that I can say that I will be well aware of our news I can assure you the health of my husband and my son is good. The said sieur recommended me to you to make his humble recommendations to your good fortune and he was very strong to have wanted by your letter the promise that I made to come. We are in this place of La Fere to celebrate with my brother the princess and my beautiful sister where I have supported you with good luck my aunt. As far as I know my son will be christened in a month or six months from now....
