LIMOUSIN. Handwritten terrier, January 1465; in Latin; sewn notebook of 61 in-4 pages on parchment, a few ornate lettering and many initials in red ink; preserved in an ornate brown morocco shirt. Terrier of the property belonging to Jacques de Bernard, Lord of Vieilleville, mainly in Limousin. Among the places mentioned: Feusines, Saint-Junien, Beaumont, Viam, Lespinasse, Rampnat, Geoux, Saint-Amand, Rougeure, etc. In the margin of the second entry, the death of Charles VII in 1461 is mentioned, in red ink in French: "alla de vie a trespas le noble Charles Roy de France qui fut seigneur de tout son Royaulme paciffique", who was succeeded by "le Roy Lois [XI] son fils". The initials have not been painted in the last two entries; on the last page, annotations from 1548. A coat of arms was glued late on the first page, and a bookplate (Jean Steffgen) on the cover.
