LOUIS XIV (1638-1715). L.S. (secretary), Paris April 14, 1644, to Count d'Alletz, colonel general of the light cavalry of France, governor and lieutenant general in Provence; countersigned by Michel Le Tellier; 1 page in-fol., seal with arms under paper, address (small slit). Attached is a printed placard with a vignette to the arms: panegyric in honor of the Very Christian King in the temple of the Royal College of the Society of Jesus, Aix-en-Provence 1664 (small holes and wet.). He named, "par advis de la Reyne regente Madame ma Mere", the S. Ferron maistre de camp of the cavalry regiment to replace S. de Treilly.
