[LOUIS XVII]. Claude Perrin (or Henri Hébert) known as Baron de RICHEMONT (1786-1853), a swindler, he pretended to be Louis XVII. P.S. with autograph apostille "Bon pour pouvoir Louis-Charles de France", Paris 25 March 1849; 1 page in-4 with tax stamp. Rare document by which the pseudo-baron de Richemont had Madame Royale summoned so that he could be recognized as Louis XVII. "I, the undersigned Louis-Charles of France, Duke of Normandy, designated and known throughout the world by the fact of revolutionary circumstances and events, under the first names and surnames of Ethelbert Louis Hector Alfred b[ar]on de Richemont "gives power of attorney to the avowed Louis-Augustin de Plas" on my behalf, bring against whom it will belong, and in particular against Marie Thérèse Charlotte of France Duchess of Angoulême, residing in Frohsdorf near Vienna (Austria), a judicial request for the declaration of the nullity and nullity of a record in the civil status registers of Paris of the twenty-fourth prairial year III (12 June 1795) which falsely states the death of Louis Charles of France, Duke of Normandy and then Dauphin of France, under the name of Louis Charles Capet [...]....] to have my identity and filiation established both by titles and by witnesses [...] in order to do all that will be necessary to restore to me the rights resulting from my status and status as the legitimate son of the late Louis Auguste King of France and Navarre and of the late Lady Marie Antoinette"....
