Château du Valle, formerly known as "Château Saint-Michel", is a medieval fortress that dominates the north-eastern part of the Isle of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. The document refers here to the "parouesse et clos de saint Michel du Valle". Denis Le Marchant is known as Lieutenant Bailiff of the Court and later Seneschal of Saint-Michel du Valle (on the Le Marchant family of lieutenants, bailiffs and seneschals of Guernsey, see W. Berry, The History of the Island of Guernsey (1815), p. 337).
