[ SCOFFS ] AVIGNON] Pension granted to Marie... - Lot 321 - Ader
[ SCOFFS ] AVIGNON] Pension granted to Marie de Passis [Pazzis] of fifteen écus for the foundation of a chapel in Avignon (collegiate church of Saint-Pierre d'Avignon ? On the back it is about the chapter of Saint-Pierre d'Avignon) In Latin, deed on parchment, notarial deed of Pierre de Ambianis France, Avignon, 28th October 1514 Dimensions: 690 x 725 mm Some defects in the parchment but good general condition. A branch of the Pazzi family from Florence has settled in France in the Comtat Venaissin (Avignon, Carpentras, Aubignan). Allaman de Pazzis (or Passis), banker (creditor, among others, of King René; Pazzis was "Maître d'hôtel" of King René), syndic and consul of Avignon in 1452 and 1454, was invested in 1458 by Pope Calixtus III in the lordships of Aubignan and Loriol. See Cler (Monique), " Un homme d'affaires avignonnais du XVe siècle : Alaman de Passis ". Léonarde de Pazzis had married Pierre de Baroncelli, who acquired the first houses transformed into the Baroncelli-Javon Hotel in Avignon. Their niece Marie de Pazzi had married Luca de Cambi (Cambis), another influential family, and this document mentions a Dominique de Cambis, lord of Alais, as their son (see Histoire de la noblesse du Comtat venaissin, d'Avignon..., Paris, 1743, pp. 238-239).
