CARCO (Francis). Jesus the Quail. - Bob and Bobette have fun. - Les Innocents. Paris : Émile Hazan & Cie, [1929-1930]. - 3 works in 3 volumes in-4, 238 x 182 : frontispiece, (4 ff. first blank), 209 pp. (4 ff. last 2 blanks), 5 plates, illustrated cover ; frontispiece, (4 ff. first blank), 210 pp. (3 ff. last blank), 5 plates, illustrated cover ; frontispiece, (4 ff. first blank), 203 pp. (2 ff. last blank), 5 plates, illustrated cover. Bistre morocco, smooth spine decorated with a beige morocco title-piece on the upper part, and with oblique cold gilt fillets, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (contemporary binding). Beautiful deluxe edition illustrated by André DIGNIMONT. Jésus la Caille has 8 etchings, one of which is in colour on the title, one in black under the printing, and 6 out of text in colour. The two other titles are each adorned with 7 etchings including one on the title and 6 out of text. The vignettes appearing on the titles are identical in the 3 works. 873 copies of each title were printed; these are among the 800 on Arches vellum (n° 691, 383 and 254). Copies in uniform, slightly later bindings, very well produced, enriched with 2 erotic etchings by Dignimont, one of which in colour, as well as two very beautiful original drawings in colour by the artist, one unsigned entitled Exposition particulière, in connection with Jésus la Caille, the other signed being the drawing for the frontispiece of Les Innocents. Some minor scattered foxing.
