POL RAB. - Lot 598
POL RAB. Ric and Rac. S.l., s.d. - 9 in-folio prints in red cloth spine cardboard folder. A collection of 9 rare prints by the cartoonist Raymond Henri Abraham, known as POL RAB (1898-1933), featuring the two dogs Ric and Rac, a fox terrier and a scottish terrier, heroes of the weekly magazine Ric et Rac published from 1929 to 1944, of which the artist was the main illustrator. The dog Ric is the one who inspired Snowy to Hergé. This set includes two series of prints; the first one includes 3 matted prints, and the second one includes 6 prints. Each one is a captioned story. Beautiful stencil-enhanced proofs, perfectly preserved. Jacques Crépineau has added a photocopied text by Marcel Achard on Pol Rab, written at the artist's death.
