[ADVERTISING - FURS] - MAX. The Last Persian Letter. Paris : Fourrures Max (impr. Draeger frères à Montrouge), [1920]. - In-folio, (4 ff.), 12 plates. Stapled, in illustrated hardback folder. Pages d'or de l'édition publicitaire, n° 17, p. 72. This remarkable album is one of the most prestigious Draeger advertising editions by the quality and the luxury of its realization . It features a text by Miguel Zamacoïs, printed in black and gold on a pale blue background, pastiching Montesquieu's famous Letters, telling the story of a Persian man's visit to Paris to discover its luxury, its elegant women and especially its fashions. To this text are added 12 superb plates, enhanced with gold and stencils in the "pure style of the twenties", by the Spanish artist Edouardo GARCIA BENITO. The set is presented in a beautiful hardback folder illustrated with a black and gold composition by Benito. The spine of the folder is worn and missing, with a cut at two corners and small tears at the corners. The 4 text leaves are unstuck, the central fold joining the first and the last leaf is largely torn.
