[ADVERTISING - FURS] - REVILLON. - Lot 608
[ADVERTISING - FURS] - REVILLON. [Revillon frères catalogue]. Paris, London, New-York : Revillon frères, [1926]. - Leaflet in-folio, 405 x 255 : (2 ff.), 8 plates. In leaves, in publisher's illustrated hardback folder. Pages d'or de l'édition publicitaire, n° 25, p. 88. Superb advertising booklet printed by Draeger, for the 1926-1927 collection of the Revillon company . It includes 8 remarkable plates of fur models drawn by the Peruvian artist Reynaldo LUZA (1893-1978), collaborator of Vogue or Vanity Fair. The Golden Pages catalogue of the advertising edition mentions only 7 plates. "Each plate is treated in the same style: the models are carefully framed in full page. The female figures disappear under the opulence of the furs, which comfortably mould their long bodies. The very pure drawing, the choice of colours: the gradations of white, grey and black, all work together to underline the cut of the models and integrate them closely into the strictly graphic framework created by the artist. The brightness of the white and black, the softness of the greys suit these outfits which evoke night, winter and celebration". (Golden Pages of the Advertising Edition, p. 88). Tears on the back of the folder. Edges of the two text leaves sunned. A black stain on the first plate. White stains due to glue on the leaf opposite this plate as well as on the verso of the last leaf and on the second lining.
