RICHEPIN (Jean). La Chanson des gueux. Complete edition decorated with 252 original compositions by Steinlen. [Followed by: Dernières chansons de mon premier livre. First edition illustrated with 25 original compositions by Steinlen. Paris : Édouard Pelletan, 1910. - 2 parts in one volume in-4, 257 x 195 : (3 ff.), 366 pp. and (1 f.), printed cover ; (2) ff. 39 pp. printed cover. Half red morocco with corners, gilt fillets, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt head, untrimmed, covers and spine preserved (Stroobants). Famous book illustrated by Steinlen (1859-1923), containing some of the artist's masterpieces. It includes the definitive edition of La Chanson des gueux, illustrated with 252 compositions in the text, followed by the first edition of Les Dernières Chansons, decorated with 24 compositions in the text. Edition mentioned in La Chanson des gueux at 340 copies, whereas the prospectus announces 325 copies. Les Dernières chansons were printed at 330 copies. Each title is here one of 267 and one of 240 on vellum (n° 117 and 115). Beautiful copy bound by Stroobants, enriched with the publication prospectus as well as a copy of the invitation to the exhibition of 300 drawings by Steinlen, organized by Édouard Pelletan on the occasion of the books' release in 1910 .
