[ISERE]. SAINT-NIZIER (URIAGE)]. Set of... - Lot 40 - Ader
[ISERE]. SAINT-NIZIER (URIAGE)]. Set of deeds and archives relating to the land of Saint-Nizier d'Uriage: wills, contracts, donations, feudal recognitions and other documents (in all 32 separate documents) In Latin and French, deeds on parchment and paper, some on stamped paperFrance , 16th-19th centuryNumerous documents relating to the Alleman (or Allemand), Rivoire [notably Amblard de la Rivoire], Berger, and Boffin families, which were all solidly established and important to Uriage and its hamlets . The oldest document dates from 1525 (Cessio nobilis Petri & Johannis Revoyrie eisdem facta per honestum virum Petrum de Furno quondam Gratianopolis) and the most recent from 1768 (some acts dated from the 16th century are copies). Among the documents of interest, one will quote "Recognitions of noble Amblard Rivoire parish of Saint-Nizier made by noble Antoine Murianne..." (1541). The hamlet of Saint-Nizier d'Uriage (Saint-Martin d'Uriage, eight kilometers from Grenoble) depends on the lordship of Uriage erected into a barony in 1496, favor granted to Soffrey Alleman by Charles VIII. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Geoffroy, Lord of "Châteauneuf d'Uriage", then Gaspard Alleman, Baron of Uriage, undertook to enlarge and modernize the castle in the Renaissance style. The Alleman family kept the castle of Uriage for nearly 600 years. In 1630, Gaspard Alleman, sold the castle to Thomas Boffin, State Councillor, from a family of people of dress. Gaspard Alleman and Thomas Boffin are mentioned in several documents of our set.
