[LIGHTING]. [GOTHIC REVIVAL]. Collection of prayers in imitation of a medieval book of hoursIn Latin, illuminated manuscript on parchment. France, circa 1900 (?). With 8 large miniatures, in the style of the Spanish Forger. 40 ff. preceded and followed by 4 ff. of white parchment, parchment ruled in red ink (justification: 100 x 70 mm), writing in imitation of liturgical Gothic script, headings in red, ornate endpapers, ornate initials and large initials painted in blue or pink with white highlights on a burnished gold background with coloured vine-leaf decoration, 8 large miniatures set in illuminated borders, unfinished manuscript with a space for a 9th miniature not made (fol. 32) but with illuminated border, some leaves with staves and notated music (ff. 31-31v39v-40). 20th century pastiche binding in full brown glazed calf on wood, spine with 3 nerves, boards with a cold decoration composed of bands with fleur-de-lis and acanthus leaves (spines and nerves rubbed, corners rubbed) Dimensions : 205 x 145 mm. The text presents universal prayers (Pater Noster, Credo, Kyrie, Agnus dei etc.) and excerpts from the Psalms arranged as in a book of hours without the elements of a complete book of hours (Hours of the Virgin and eight canonical hours).
