[ALMANACH]. Almanach des Muses. Paris, 1776-1826. - 19 volumes in-12. A set of 19 years of this famous almanac offering poems, epistles, and romances, some of which were signed by the greatest authors of the time. It was created in 1765 by Sautreau de Marsy who directed its publication until 1793. He was succeeded by Étienne Vigée until 1820, Justin Gensoul until 1829 and Jean-Pierre Lesguillon until 1833. In addition to the literary pieces, each volume contains at the end an interesting Notice of all the works of poetry published in the year preceding that of the edition. The present collection comprises 19 years published between 1776 and 1826, including pieces by De Belloy, the Chevalier de Cubières, Casimir Delavigne, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, Dorat, Ducis, Delphine Gay, the Comtesse de Genlis, Gresset, Victor Hugo, La Harpe, Lamartine, Marmontel, Marsollier de Vivetières, Mérard de Saint Just, Millevoye, de Piis, Rochon de Chabannes, de Saintine, Saurin, Eugène Scribe, Madame de Staël, Amable Tastu, Tressan, Firmin Didot, Madame Dufresnoy, Laya, Voltaire, etc. All copies are in contemporary red morocco, distinct for the majority, very well preserved on the whole.
