GOUDEAU (Emile) - LEPÈRE (Auguste). Parisian landscapes. Hours and seasons. Paris : printed for Henri Béraldi, 1892. - In-8, 264 x 178 : frontispiece, XV, 175 pp. 4 plates, illustrated cover. Dark green morocco, boards decorated with a mosaic frame of brown and beige morocco in the purest Art Nouveau style, spine ribbed with mosaic motifs, lining of green morocco bordered on the outside by a gilt roulette and entirely decorated with a repeating floral decoration mosaic of green and white morocco, in a frame and circular compartments of black morocco listels, dark green moiré silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover preserved, dark green morocco flap folder, slipcase (Marius Michel). First edition printed at 138 copies on Marais vellum, illustrated with 5 etchings outside the text and 42 original woodcuts in the text, drawn and engraved by Auguste Lepère. A copy specially printed for M. Borderel, comprising two states of the etchings, on vellum before the letter and on laid paper, as well as a suite on chine of the woodcuts. The first proof on chine is justified and signed in pencil by the artist: "Suite ou fumés de "Paysages Parisiens". A. Lepère". Remarkable lined binding by Marius Michel made for M. Borderel whose ex-libris in gilt letters appears on the second lining. The copy was later acquired by the illustrator and engraver Jacques Simon-Barboux (1890-1973). Provenance: M.
