Charpentier et Cie, 1884. - In-18, 175 x 109 : (2 ff.), 294 pp. Black half-chagrin, spine decorated with skulls surrounded by cold tears, marbled edges (period binding). First edition of this masterpiece by Huysmans, which marks the author's break with naturalism. It was seen by his contemporaries as a true breviary of decadence. A copy in a choice binding of the period, with a decoration on the spine with cold funerary attributes. Scattered foxing. Leaves of pages 3 to 12 partly disbound. Two tears repaired with tape inside.
