Red half-chagrin, smooth spine, covers preserved (contemporary binding). Set of the first 20 issues of the new series of the art magazine XXe siècle initially created in 1938 and which lasted until 1981. It was directed successively by its creator Gualtieri di San Lazzaro from 1938 to 1974 and then by Alain Jouffroy. Original lithograph by Jean ARP. - N° 20 - Christmas 1962 : Art, conscience of the world. Lithographs by Max ERNST, Alfred MANESSIER and Enrico BAJ. Spine slightly faded, rubbing from use on hinges and headpieces. Head cover of the fifth volume damaged. The binder has kept all the first covers but only the second cover of the number that ends each volume. Rubbing and tears to the cloth of the second cover of the second volume. The issues are perfectly preserved.
