MICHAUX (Henri).
Dreams and the leg. Philosophical & literary essay.
Anvers: Ça ira!, 1923. - In-16, paperback.
Original edition of Michaux's first book, then 23 years old. As was the case until 1929, year of the publication of Mes propriétés, Michaux still spelled his first name with a y.
The edition was published by a confidential publishing house run by the Antwerp poet Paul Meuheys. The print run was partly financed by Michaux, and the announced number of 400 copies on vellum was probably much lower. Part of the print run would have been destroyed by the author, and, according to A. Griset, apart from 33 press copies and 30 others given to the author, very few copies would have circulated (L'édition originale de Les Rêves et la jambe, in Le livre et l'estampe, n° 36, 1990, p. 133.)A
very well preserved copy, bearing the number 313
