FRENCH SCHOOL of the second half of the 18th century Bernini's Fountain of the Bees in Rome Pen and black ink over black pencil lines, brown and gray wash on several sheets of paper assembled. (Glued on an old lining with an architectural facade in transparency). 41 x 52,5 cm The fountain was made by Bernini in 1644, at the corner of Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto. The bees are the emblem of Urban VIII's family, the Barberini.
