Letters Patent Patent of nobility of Count of the Empire in the name of Vice Admiral ALLEMAND. On vellum, with coat of arms painted au naturel in the upper left cornerBy decree of the fifteenth of August eighteen hundred and ten, in the name of Zacharie Jacques Théodore Allemand, vice-admiral, commander of the Legion of Honour, born in Port Louis, department of Morbihan. Given in our Palace of Saint Cloud on the twenty-seventh of April eighteen hundred and eleven. Signed "Napoleon". Sealed by the Prince Archchancellor of the Empire. Biography : Zacharie Jacques Théodore Allemand (1762-1826) Appointed Rear-Admiral in 1806, he campaigns under the orders of Admiral Ganteaume whom he replaces for six months at the head of the naval army of Toulon, before becoming its second in command in 1808. Appointed Vice-Admiral in 1809, he commands in chief the naval army of the Mediterranean on the "Lion" in 1810, then on the "Austerlitz ". He was made a count of the empire and a grand officer of the legion of honour and commanded the Ocean squadron until 1813.
