SOUVENIR DE CHAMPAGNY, DUC DE CADORE Large green morocco wallet, with gussets, inscribed "Le Duc de Cadore". Bordered by a frieze of palmettes and stars. Vermeil lock in the shape of an urn with five closing points, worked with days. Reinforced corners of vermeil, worked with days. Lined inside with red morocco and five compartmentalized leaves. 32 x 48,5 cmB .E. of use. First Empire - Restoration period. Jean-Baptiste de Nompère de Champagny, Duc de Cadore was a French politician (Roanne 1756-Paris 1834). Minister of the Interior (1804-1807), then of Foreign Affairs (1807-1811), he was one of the negotiators of the marriage of Napoleon and Marie-Louise.
