Antique ante-mortem cast (made during the artists' lifetime) by Florentin Godard and published by Ambroise Vollard, possibly in only 9 copies.
Inscribed RENOIR on the back of the terrace, numbered VIIII on the back of the terrace.

We would like to thank Mrs. Elisabeth Lebon, art historian and specialist of bronzes and foundries, for her precious help in the examination and analysis of this proof of the Little Standing Venus
.
Her work with Ursel Berger, published these days in the book Maillol (re)découvert (Gourcuff Gradenigo edition), gives us very rich information on the numbering in Roman numerals and not justified that the Florentin Godard foundryman practiced; illustrated by this proof of the Little Standing Venus.
We are also grateful to the Succession Guino for the research and documentation work it has carried out over the last ten years, always in close dialogue and collaboration with art historians.
