JOSEF HOFFMANN (1870-1956) MODEL DESIGNER & JACOB AND JOSEF KOHN AUSTRIA MANUFACTURER421 , the model designed around [1907] and presented at the Kunstschau, Vienna, 1908Pair of modernist armchairs. The curved structures are made of steamed and previously stained wood. The backs and rear legs are made of steamed beech plywood. The front and back fixings are masked by large patinated brass studs. Seats and backrests upholstered and (re)upholstered. Older editions. Restorations, discolorations of the wood parts, scattered worm holes, missing a brass screw cover cabochon, non original upholstery and trimmings. Each armchair is marked with a hot iron J. J. KOHN Teschen-Austria on the back of the front crossbar and bears the paper label J. J. KOHN (one very incomplete) on the back crossbar.
