MAX BLONDAT (1872-1925) SCULPTOR & ÉMILE DECŒUR (1876-1953 )Children and frogs, commonly known as the Fountain of Frogs or the Fountain of Youth, the motif created in [1904], copy n° 4Sculpture . Polychrome glazed ceramic proof; the glaze is smooth and matt. Early 20th century edition. Minimal wear and scattered enamel chips. Signed Max BLONDAT on the right side and E. DECŒUR on the left side, bears the monogram M. B. and the N° 4 under the base. Height : 35 cm - Length : 33 cm - Depth : 39 cmExhibition : Salon des Artistes français, Paris, 1904 - The original plaster of this fountain, in large size, presented during this event under the n°2686 of the catalogue . Later, this model was published in several formats and different materials. An identical model made in terracotta is presented under number 21 of the catalogue. The copy is kept in the Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne (92).
