Hector BERLIOZ. L.A.S., Paris 1 August 1843,... - Lot 4 - Ader
Hector BERLIOZ. L.A.S., Paris 1 August 1843, to pianist and composer Sigismund Thalberg; 1 page in-8. On his Symphonie funèbre et triomphale. [Thalberg had married Francesca Lablache, daughter of the singer, on 22 July. He had promised Berlioz a piece for piano, which was published in 1845 under the title Grand Caprice sur la Marche de l'Apothéose de Berlioz (Schlesinger)]. "My dear Thalberg If in the midst of the joys of the honeymoon you have a moment to give me, please be so kind as to write me six lines, to tell me whether you have received the score of my Symphony and when you will be able to send me the piece you have been good enough to promise me. Everything has come to a standstill because of the absence of your manuscript, and this delay upsets me greatly. Even though you are married, be a good boy and get rid of me as soon as possible"...
