Autograph manuscript, Bibliothèque Littéraire, 1889; small folio register of 60 ff (some blank) with alphabetical tabs, black cloth boards with Répertoire label on the upper cover. In this alphabetical directory, purchased near his home at the stationery shop Raimon & Roudhloff (61 rue Rodier), on which he has affixed his ink stamp at the top with his name and address Emm. Chabrier 13, Avenue Trudaine Paris, Chabrier carefully listed the works in his library, most of which were bound, amounting to nearly a thousand volumes, some of which were old (such as a Thomas Morus of 1631). We note in particular works by Th. de Banville, Baudelaire, Berlioz, Balzac, Daudet, Dante, the art criticism of Th. Duret, Duranty, Dickens, Flaubert, the Goncourts, the Scenes of the private and public life of animals by Grandville, Huysmans, L. Halévy, Lamartine, Ephraïm Mikhael, Musset, Murger, Nodier, Nerval, Rollinat, Richepin, Vallès, Villiers de l'Isle-Adam, etc, with important sets by Théophile Gautier (37 volumes), Victor Hugo (32), Michelet (29), Catulle Mendès (32 vols. and plates), Émile Zola (26), etc.
