Maurice DONNAY (1859-1945)]. File on Lysistrata; in a red half-maroquin folder, slipcase. Lysistrata, Maurice Donnay's first play, after Aristophanes, was successfully premiered at the Grand-Théâtre (salle de l'Eden-Théâtre) on December 22, 1892, with Réjane in the title role; it was revived at the Vaudeville on May 6, 1896, and then in various theaters. 20 costume models by Charles BÉTOUT (1869-1945), gouache watercolors on cardboard (about 31.5 x 23.5 cm), all bearing the artist's ink stamp. 5 other unsigned costume models (about 30 x 20 cm). The illustrated edition by J. Jamet (A. Fayard, 1914); 3 programs of revivals 1909; publicity brochure of the costume designer Léon Granier; various programs of plays after Aristophanes, including the presentation brochure of the film Destinées (1954), and press clippings are attached.
