[HISTORY]. [FRANCE]. Notions of the history of France. Three races of kings. In French, manuscript on paper. France, mid-17th c. (?) 301 pp, cursive writing in brown ink, ruled manuscript . Bound in red morocco, decorated in the Duseuil style on the boards with fleur-de-lys at the outer corners of the central frame, spine with 6 nerves partitioned and decorated with flowers, gilt edges (scratches, dull cuffs). Dimensions : 225 x 175 mmThe last reign mentioned is that of Louis XIII, with the last quoted dates of 1636. Provenance : From the library of Dom C.C. Bourlamaque, with armorial bookplate (wet stamp) on the first and last leaf . It is Claude-Charles Bourlamaque (died in 1770). Several manuscripts belonging to him are kept in the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal (MS 3013 ; MS 4220 ; MS 4613 ; MS 5037). Lord of Le Vivier and Courtevron, Dom Bourlamaque was also Captain of the Regiment of Saluzy, art collector and bibliophile. The books that belonged to him bear a stamp on the title with his arms (gold, with a cross of azure). The catalog of his library was published at his death, in 1770, Catalogue des livres de la Bibliothèque de feu M. de Bourlamaque by Prault fils.
